The Story Behind Our Name
Our Founder:
Gerald A. Teel
Teel Valuation Group carries forward the legacy of its founder, Gerald A. Teel, who established the Gerald A. Teel Company in 1983. Over the following decades, he built a respected valuation practice serving clients throughout Texas and across the United States. Gerald earned several of the profession’s most recognized designations, including MAI, CRE, and SGA, and became widely known for his work as an expert witness in complex real estate matters.
Before founding the firm, Gerald served as a pilot in the United States Air Force, flying missions during the Vietnam era and had the unique assignments of such as assisting with the recovery of a NASA space capsule from the Pacific Ocean in the early years of the U.S. space program.
His career has also extended beyond valuation, including the development of more than 1,110 apartment units in seven apartment communities across Texas. Today, he continues to support the firm in an Of Counsel role, offering guidance shaped by more than five decades of professional experience. Outside of work, Gerald enjoys fishing, traveling, and sharing a good bottle of wine with friends and family.
